Gangtok, Lachen and Lachung Tour
High lakes, rhododendron valleys, and North Sikkim villages.
This is a more adventurous route into North Sikkim. It connects the capital city of Gangtok with the remote villages of Lachen and Lachung, taking you to Gurudongmar Lake and Yumthang Valley with big mountain scenery and alpine landscapes.
Arrival in Gangtok
Your North Sikkim adventure begins with a pickup from NJP or Bagdogra and a scenic drive up to Gangtok. After checking into your hotel, you can rest and relax. The evening is free for you to explore MG Marg or simply unwind after your journey.
Tshangu Lake and Baba Mandir Excursion
After breakfast, you'll drive to Tshangu Lake, a beautiful high altitude glacial lake. You'll have time at the lake for photos and short walks, taking in the stunning mountain surroundings. You'll also visit Baba Mandir, a revered temple. After your exploration, you'll return to Gangtok for your overnight stay.
Gangtok to Lachen
After an early breakfast, you'll start your journey deeper into North Sikkim, heading towards Lachen. The drive takes you through beautiful valleys, alongside rivers, and through forests, with several viewpoint stops along the way. You'll arrive at Lachen by late afternoon or evening, where you'll check into your accommodation. If time permits, you can take an evening walk to a nearby Lepcha village to experience local culture.
Gurudongmar Lake and Transfer to Lachung
You'll start very early for Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. The journey takes you through high altitude barren landscapes, offering a unique and dramatic experience. Time at Gurudongmar Lake is subject to weather conditions and permits, but when accessible, it offers breathtaking views and photo opportunities. After your visit, you'll return towards Lachen for lunch, then continue your drive to Lachung. Upon arrival, you can optionally visit the Lachung monastery in the evening.
Yumthang Valley and Return to Gangtok
In the morning, you'll drive to Yumthang Valley, located at around eleven thousand eight hundred feet. In spring, the valley is filled with rhododendrons and other alpine flowers, creating a colorful spectacle. In winter, it's covered with snow, offering a completely different but equally beautiful experience. You'll have time for short walks and photos by the river. After your visit, you'll return to Lachung for lunch, then drive back to Gangtok, arriving in the evening for your overnight stay.
Departure from Gangtok
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll be transferred back to NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, marking the end of your North Sikkim adventure.

What's Included
Your journey includes a private vehicle reserved only for you throughout the trip, allowing you to travel at your own pace. All transportation requirements from arrival to departure are fully arranged. Parking fees at every sightseeing point are included so you don't have to worry about local charges. GST is already covered inside the package. All transport taxes are taken care of as well, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted travel.
What's Not Included
Travel insurance is not included in the package and can be arranged separately if required. Laundry services during the journey are not part of the package. Anything that is not listed under inclusions is considered excluded. Entry fees to sightseeing locations are to be paid directly by guests. Guide charges, if availed, are not included. Room heaters provided by hotels on request are chargeable according to hotel policy.

Cancellation Policy
- •Cancellations made more than fifteen days before arrival will incur a charge of twenty five percent of the total package cost.
- •Cancellations made between fifteen days and five days before arrival will incur a charge of thirty five percent of the total package cost.
- •Cancellations made between five days and one day before arrival will incur a charge of fifty percent of the total package cost.
Hotel & Transportation
- •Transportation is provided strictly on a point-to-point basis as per the confirmed itinerary.
- •If a listed hotel is sold out at the time of booking, a hotel of the same or similar category will be provided without compromising on the stay experience.
